Interiors Inspiration {Delightfully French}

My love for French interiors is well known on this blog, so I am quite excited to share with you today the home of Laurent Papaix and David Toto, who began their renovation mission with the intention of bringing classic French charm into their Toronto home.

The bathroom and powder room are the stand outs for me in this beautifully renovated home. I love the vintage style bath and wash-basin, stripe treatment of the walls; and the chandelier over the bath is fabulous!

Love Her Style {Olivia Palermo}

Ok, so its official, I have a style crush on Olivia Palermo. I am consistently impressed how she puts an outfit together and how cleverly she mixes fab designer labels with Top Shop.

Whether she is frocking it up on the red carpet or out and about, she never fails to put a fashion foot wrong.

Her take of classic elegance with a touch of edginess is what sets her apart, plus her collection of lust-worthy handbags is incredible!

A City Apartment with a Dash of Country

Inner city living and apartments go hand in hand, so learning how to create inspiring interiors when space is a challenge is a must if you want to enjoy the fabulous life of the city.

When I spied this apartment over at Classy & Glamorous I was instantly smitten by how beautifully it had been put together; but couldn't help but notice the apartment had a distinct country flavour, despite it's inner city trappings...

The clever use of white throughout the apartment creates a fabulous illusion of space. The fact that the apartment is filled with light is an added bonus!

I am in heaven with the 'country feel' of the apartment; the floral touches, white wooden furniture and lovely textures all give the sense that you could be in a country home, but no, this is city-living!

How quaint this this kitchen? Smally but extremely functional with loads of storage. I love the white oven with the country-style timer; such small details add to the overall country-inspired feel of the apartment.

How is your week my dears? I am so thankful that the weekend is only one more day away!

An Exciting New Addition

I have long admired Louis-style chairs and have had one on my wishlist for some time; when I saw this one on sale, I knew it was the perfect addition for our new bedroom.

I couldn't contain my excitement as I carried it inside and placed it in the sunny corner of the bedroom, it looked perfect!

The bedroom is almost complete now, we are just making some final touches. For the colour we went with a Dulux colour called Simone Weil, mixed with the white trim in Dulux Antique White, semi-gloss.

Would love to know what you think!

....And I'm Back

Hello loves!

Well it has been a few weeks now, apologies for my long hiatus, but things have been extraordinarily crazy with moving into our new place, some initial renovations and DIY projects, plus my day job has been keeping me insanely busy. But, I'm back on deck and oh how I have missed blogging!

I will be spending the weekend visiting all of your beautiful blogs and catching up on what I have missed out on!

What inspired me to write this post and propelled me back into blogging tonight was the fab new Lonny issue. Specifically though, one of the lovely homes it featured in the issue has helped me look at my own interiors challenge in a completely new light.

The bathroom in our new apartment has a most bizarre layout which means the logical place for the hand basin doesn't allow for a mirror or vanity directly above. Without serious bathroom renovations, this would be impossible to change.

Husband and I have been dreading how much our impending renovation would cost! But when I saw how fresh and sophisticated Ethan & Ari's bathroom renovation turned out on their West Village apartment, where they faced similar space and design challenges, I began to feel a whole lot better.

I love how they have cleverly (and practically) integrated the vintage mirror above the hand basin, yet have also installed a beautiful walnut above their towel rack as a feature. And a hidden medicine cabinet? Genius!

On a side note, I have some sneak peaks of our new bedroom to share with you shortly. It's not finished yet, but its well on its way. Oh and we went with the grey in the end and SO glad we were game enough to try it - it looks amazing!!

Don't forget to check out the new issue of Lonny Mag here.

Its great to be back!
