17th Annual SAG Awards {favourite looks}

Lea Michelle
Dress: Oscar de la Renta Shoes: Sergio Rossi

Hilary Swank
Dress: Versace

Dress: Jenny Packham. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

The look was all about sensuous nudes, gold accessories and voluminous flowing hair at the 17th Annual SAG Awards.

I thought Lea Michelle stole the show with her sparkly Oscar de la Renta number, but Hilary Swank and Jayma Mays looked utterly stunning too.

What were your favourite red carpet looks?

Happy Weekend & Rue Lovin'

Happy Friday friends! I had another post planned for today, but then I got side-tracked by reading the latest issue of Rue, which is AMAZING!

Most of all I adored Nicole Cohen's New York, Upper East Side apartment. Nicole also writes the blog Sketch 42, of which I am a big fan of, so it was great to take a peek inside her incredible home...

Amazing right?!

Nicole has also posted on her blog her inspirations and the process of putting together her apartment, check out the post here.

What were you favourites from the latest issue of Rue?

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies!

Wednesday Workspace {australia day edition}

Hello lovelies, happy Australia Day! I've had the day off celebrating at a BBQ with friends, eating and being merry whilst listening to JJJ's Hottest 100 - pure bliss. It was hard staying cool though, it was a scorcher!

Today's sophisticated workspace has been achieved through a minimalist approach to colour, which I love. The chandelier, lamp and wallpaper are discreet glamorous touches that make this room really pop, don't you think?

Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!

PS. Matchbook Mag launched it's first issue today. I've taken a quick peek and it looks simply gorgeous. Very much looking forward to devouring the issue over a coffee!

Colour love {yellow & grey}

Lately I have been loving the striking colour combination of yellow and grey. Such an unlikely mix, but they work perfectly with each other.

The addition of yellow is so refreshing, don't you think?

Thank you!

I have a few thank you's to make to you lovely readers!

First, I would to say a BIG thank you to Jessica, over at Lavender and Lillies who has so kindly nominated my little blog for a Homie Award! I was so thrilled to receive this lovely surprise; it's exciting to be considered for such an award.

If you would like to nominate Little Bits of Lovely there is still time! Just go to Apartment Therapy (register to become a user if your not already), then cast your nomination here.

Next, I have been nominated for a Stylish Blogger Award by three fabulous ladies; thank you to Sara from A Dose of Pretty, Christine from Bijou and Boheme and Anna from Lona de Anna!

The rules are for me to share 7 things about me and then to pass it on to my favourite blogs; so here goes...

{one} My husband and I met at work
I was lucky enough to meet my husband when we were both working in advertising. When we initially got together we were working on the same account and working very closely with each other – it was bizarre but also kind of fun at the same time. We actually really enjoyed working together and hopefully one day we will get the opportunity to again.

{two} I’m petrified of public speaking
I am not one of those people who can get up and talk in front of a crowd of people without shaking uncontrollably, feeling sick and having a bad case of butterflies in my stomach. I wish it wasn't true,  but sadly this isn’t the case.

{three} Coffee is my vice
I start each day with a coffee and I love it! If I don't have it I tend to get a bit cranky :)

{four}  I’m a handbag gal
I made the distinction that I’m a handbag gal over a shoe gal when I was about 19 on my first trip to Europe, when I purchased my very own LV and Prada bags. Since then my love affair with bags has continued and my collection has grown. I believe that a bag can make an outfit and by accessorizing well, a beautiful bag can take you anywhere.

{five}  I have a fear of cats

Yes, this sounds extremely lame, but unfortunately true! My hubby always makes fun of me about this and finds it extremely amusing. I am always worried cats are about to leap out and claw me; I try to avoid them whenever possible.

{six} I was born and bred in Sydney
People from Sydney often find it strange that I have lived here my whole life. Most people you meet in Sydney are either from overseas or another state in Australia, but I'm an exception - it is such a great city, why would I want to leave?! That's not to say I'm not getting itchy feet; I would love to live and work overseas one day!

{seven} My day job
When I am not blogging, I work for a large publishing corporate in their digital division, where I spend my day strategising, developing and launching new products; exciting stuff!

That's it for me lovelies! And now to pass this award on to some favourites;

*elle oh
*Lilacs & Grey
*Lanalou Style
*Things that Sparkle
*The Alternative Wife
*Gallery No. 8
*Hey Gorgeous
*Look Linger Love
*The Zush

I'll be back tomorrow with a special Austalia Day edition of Wednesday Workspace!

5 lovely things I can't live without {Bijou & Boheme}

Hello my dears, welcome to a brand new week. I can't believe the first month of 2011 is almost over, how time flies! Sydney has been enjoying some blissful summer weather lately, it was a struggle to go back to work today when the sun was shining and thoughts of escaping to the beach kept popping up in my mind...

Guest posting on 5 lovely things today, is the super talented Christine from Bijou and Boheme. Christine has taken the blogging world by storm, showcasing her beautifully decorated home and sharing her keen eye for fabrics and wallpaper. She is also one of the friendliest people I have met while blogging, so its a pleasure to introduce you to her today!

***

Obviously the only thing I truly can't live without is my family but here are a few pretty things that I quite adore as well.

{one} Coffee and Wine - I start my day with a mug of hot java and celebrate the end of each day with a glass of vino.  I enjoy one of each and it's a part of my day to day that I definitely love.

{two} Mini Laptop - I could not survive without this computer. I do all of my blogging on my little laptop and I love that it can go everywhere with me.

{three} YSL Tine Majeur - I really could not live without this.  It's a concealer/foundation that goes on and feels like you're wearing nothing.  After I had kids, my skin turned a permanent pinky colour and this cream brings it back to a nice natural shade.  It was expensive but worth every penny- liquid gold.

{four}iPhone - This is a new addition to my list.  I've had a regular phone until very recently and I'm loving the amazing things I can do on this little beauty.  And the case, just makes me heart sing- how can you not love a little snakeskin and gold?

{five} Mor Marshmallow Hand Cream - This cream makes me want to like my own hands.  It smells so good and makes my skin feel like butter.  Plus, the packaging totally had me at hello.

Thank you so much for having me Rachel and I hope you all enjoyed seeing a few of my favourite lovely things.

Thank you Christine for visiting today. If you haven't checked out Christine's blog you must take a look!

Do you have any plans? I intend to make the most of the sunshine with plans of a trip to Bondi markets and a picnic.

Here are just a few lovely links that caught my eye this week;

* This brownie pudding looks absolutely delicious;
* This short film, made for the new Kate Spade campaign, Live colourfully, is so fun!
* I love these Pantone cookie chips - sweet!
* Loving this fab calendar;
* Rachel Bilson's style is so hot right now

Have a wonderful weekend friends; thank you for all of your lovely comments this week!

For the love of white

As much as I love colour, I really adore nothing more than pure white interiors. This home caught my eye; with it's shabby chic style, mixed with a dash of country decor and a dose of French thrown in for good measure. It was hard not to fall in love.

The loveliest thing about this home? The delightful caravan parked out the back...Pure magic!

Have a wonderful Thursday lovelies.

Wednesday Workspace

Happy Wednesday friends! Today's inspiring workspace belongs to Viv from the lovely blog Ish & Chi.

I have long been a fan of Viv's work and her newest creation is really something special. I'm loving the wallpaper, the Juju hat and pretty matching cushion and lampshade; they add so much character to this fun space!

Classic Style with a French Twist

If I had to describe myself through decor, I think this lovely home would sum me up perfectly.

Owned by Caroline Endre, an interior designer from Stockholm, whose inspirations for designing her home came from the movie Coco Before Chanel.

The classic, yet undeniably French influenced decor is impeccable; from the marble backsplash in the kitchen; the luxe chandelier in the living room; to the glamorous wallpaper in the master bedroom.

Truly lovely, yes?
