Award Time!

I am super excited that I have been lucky enough to receive the Sunshine Blogging Award from the lovely Dawn at The Alternative Wife! If you haven't been to visit Dawn yet, go now! Her blog is filled with the prettiest fashion, beauty, art and design inspiration.

Being so new to the blogging community I'm thrilled to have been made to feel so welcome :)

Here are the rules that go with accepting the Sunshine Award:

1. Put the logo on your blog or within your post.
2. Pass the award on to 12 bloggers.
3. Link to the nominees within your post.
4. Let them know they received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.

With so many beautiful blogs out there this makes it very hard, but here goes - these are the blogs I would like to pass this award to:

I would also like to thank Anna from Around my Table, who has awarded me with a Beautiful Blogger Award. Thank you Anna, you are too sweet!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Photography Inspiration {Max Attenborough}

Hello lovelies! I do hope you have been enjoying your weekend so far. Husband & I have spent another weekend wrapped up in our search for an apartment, but this weekend we found some goodies. I hope I will have more news next week!

I stumbled across Max Attenborough's photography portfolio after seeing one of his images in a lovely blog (forgive me, I cannot remember which one!) couldn't resist sharing them with you.

I adore all of the styling he has done in the shoots, they are refreshingly innocent and he captures the composition flawlessly.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday darlings!

Back to Basics {Primary Colours}

These bold spaces featuring splashes of colour captured my attention immediately.

I love the use of primary colours to create such delightfully warm interiors. Have you used primary colours in your home?

Secondary colours tend to feature more prominently in my home, namely green; but I do tend to play it a bit safe when it comes to experimenting with colour!

Have a fabulous Thursday!

Introducing Etsy Store {Wishful Babying}

Hello lovelies, I do hope you have had a good week so far. I'm thankful its hump day already; a four-day week is always a nice bonus!

Today I'm excited to introduce you to my friend and children's clothing designer Jenn, who has just started an Etsy store, Wishful Babying. Her store is filled with darling party dresses and the most adorable play outfits any little lady would love to wear.

Jenn has been an avid sewer since the age of 8 and is committed to using good-quality new and "found" fabrics. Each of the garments she makes are one-of-a-kind, so you can be sure when you buy from her store that you are getting a completely original piece.

All of the clothes are durable and will most likely outlast the length of time it takes a little-one to outgrow them!

Jenn's collection is irresistible; if you have children or looking for a gift for your nieces or newphews then be sure to check out the store and see the full collection for yourself!

{Heavenly} Apartment Inspiration

Hello lovelies! I do hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Easter. Husband & I have spent most of the break house-hunting and trying to work out what we can (and can't!) afford in Sydney.

The house prices are crazy, but we are determined to find a good apartment that is in desperate need of renovation for us to transform. So stay tuned for our little adventure...

In the meantime, we have been busy trawling through real estate websites and have come across some very lovely renovations that I had to share...

First up is this gorgeous apartment in Ashfield, in Sydney's inner west. It is an old art deco mansion which has been divided into two apartments.

I love the muted grey and white colour palette mixed with black, purple; plus the dark polished floorboards work so well and really help to maintain the original art deco feel.

The purple lampshade looks fantastic!

See the full details here

Next up is another art deco apartment, this one is in Rose Bay, in Sydney's eastern suburbs. The kitchen is the standout in this apartment, I will be keeping this on file for our renovation kitchen inspiration!
See the full details here

Seeing all of these gorgeous transformations only makes me more determined in our search. I would love to have people's advice on your hunt for the 'perfect' house and if you have any tips, please share!

Coveting {Shades of Gold}

Right now I am coveting Shades of Gold...

Jennifer Aniston for UK Harpers Bazaar bathed in golden light; her look is utterly fabulous.

Modern romance meets country chic in this delightful office.

This bedroom is heaven. I adore the gold wallpaper and the quilted bed-head is gorgeous!

Hope you are having a lovely long weekend so far. Tomorrow husband and I begin the hunt for our first home! xx

Happy 101 Awards {10 Things That Make Me Happy}

What I love about blogging most is all the super friendly people I have met along the way and all of the endless inspiration I discover daily through the many blogs out there in blog-land.

Which is why I am completely thrilled to have been nominated for my first ever blog award by the wonderful Judy from Verandah House! If you haven't checked out Judy's blog yet, I do urge you to visit - it is filled with delightful inspiration and she has such a great eye for fabulous interiors and trends.

The Happy 101 Blog Awards asks recipients to list their top 10 things that makes them happy...so here is my list!

1. My gorgeous husband

I feel incredibly lucky to have the most wonderful husband who is also my best friend.

2. Charlie

Charlie is the best dog in the world, although I am completely biased :) He is always guaranteed to bring smiles and laughter even after the most awful day imaginable.

 3. Magazines

Since the age of about twelve I have loved magazines. I cannot resist a stunning glossy cover and to prove it I have piles of lovely magazines all over our apartment! They fill me with inspiration and they are what started my love affair of fashion and interiors.
4. Running

I always feel fantastic after going for a long run or having a good session at the gym. Running regulary means I can indulge in my next love - cupcakes!

5. Cupcakes

When in New York I fell head over heels in love with the cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. My cupcake standards have risen sharply since then and I am slowly working on perfect the art of baking a 'Magnolia standard' of cupcake ;)

  6. Fresh flowers, Peonies & Hydrangeas

 Fresh flowers are my guaranteed pick me up. I love having fresh flowers at home, they brighten any room. Peonies are my favourites, closely followed by hydrangeas.

 7. Inspiring interiors

I am continually inspired by interiors from blogs and magazines on a daily basis. My dream job would consist of renovating and redecorating houses...One day...

8. New York

Husband and I had a blissful honeymoon in NYC and figure we could easily live there. Everything about the city I completely adore - the shopping, food, theatre, West Village, Magnolia Bakery - heaven! Cannot wait to go back to New York.

9. Blogging

I am still new to blogging, but I have met so many lovely people and the constant inspiration I get from blogging amazes me.

10. Food, Family & Friends

My perfect weekend consists of good food, family and friends!

Now to pass this on to 10 of my favourite blogs - I come across so many blogs but these ones are particularly full of loveliness:
