Zebra love

Ever since I saw these beauties from Becker + Minty, I've been obsessed with everything zebra and have been tossing around different ways for how I could incorporate it into my apartment. Here are some ideas so far...

So far I'm most tempted by the chairs and the rug; but because I already have a cow-hide, if I went with either of these options I don't think I could end up keeping it. Ah decisions!

Inspiration for a new week :: imagination will take you everywhere

I'm the sort of person you would call a dreamer. I got into trouble at school for being distracted not paying attention + I was always distracted by the same thing: my wild imagination.

These days I frequently let my mind wander and let it go down these incredible trains of thought, and I can honestly say that when I let my mind roam I do my best thinking and come up with creative ideas.

Next time you find your mind wandering off, go with it and see where it takes you...The power your imagination is a beautiful thing and lets face it: sometimes its more fun to take the scenic route in life.

Becker + Minty

I did a bit of exploring of Potts Point on the weekend and popped into Becker + Minty, the 'lifestyle concept' store owned and curated by Jason Minty. I've heard lots about this store so I was excited to visit for the first time + wasn't disappointed. The store is filled with unique decor items, furniture + accessories - many of them one-of-a-kind and sourced from all ends of the globe.


Jason was very lovely + let me take a few snaps to share with you...

How fabulous are the zebra stools + box? I've not been able to get these off my mind since! 


If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping by - Jason said he is always mixing things up and because so many of the items are unique there is bound to be something to see each time you visit. Next place on my list to visit is their Woollahra store which has more of a focus on jewellery + home decor items. Stay tuned!

Thoughts for a new week :: failure is an opportunity

Welcome to a new week lovelies! I'm a bit behind the times, but over the weekend I read J.K Rowling's Harvard Commencement Address to the class of 2008, where she spoke about the importance of failure and how it helped her have the courage and determination to not only try again, but to succeed.


Feeling completely inspired by her ability to turn failure into a good thing I had to share this with you today. Read the full address here.

Happy weekend lovelies! Phew, the end of another busy week + I'm glad to have a relaxing weekend ahead! I'm dying to check out the local growers market near me + a few of the boutiques in the area. One I have spied is Blood Orange, which stocks various Australian + international designers including Alexander Wang + Filippa K. Do you have any plans?

Apartment update :: bathroom inspiration

Now that I'm all moved into my apartment I'm starting to think about how I'm going to decorate it. One of the first things I'm going to do is give the bathroom a little update - I'm lucky in the sense that it has just been renovated so its all fresh + lovely; plus its a white, blank canvas with zero personality (= bonus for me!).


Because I've never had my own apartment before, I haven't had the joy of adding some decidedly feminine touches (aka pink), so without going too overboard, I plan to turn the bathroom into a chic, fun + colourful space that I know will make me smile every time I get ready in the morning!


Here's what I'm thinking so far...

6. Ceramic stool // 7. Peggy Wolf art // 8. West Elm rug.

Thank goodness West Elm ship to Oz now, otherwise this rug would have just been a fantasy. Oh and West Elm are also offering 50% off international shipping right now :)

Thoughts for a new week :: never forget where you've been

Hi lovelies! Even though its Tuesday, in my head it is still Monday so I'm starting the week off with some positive thoughts...


The journey of life is definitely fun, filled with twists + unexpected bumps along the way; but what makes it all the more fun (+ bearable when things turned pear-shaped!) are the people you share your journey with. 


Take a moment + think about all the amazing people in your life + how much brighter they make even the mundane things you do seem. When you next see them, show them just how much you mean to them; whether this is simply reminding them or going out of your way to do something extra special for them. I guarantee this will not only make you feel like a million bucks, but will also help to spread these gestures of thoughtfulness on to others.

Happy weekend + lovely links

Happy weekend friends! Thanks to the Queen's Birthday, we have an extra long weekend here, so I'm looking forward to getting my apartment organised + exploring my new area, making the most of the sunny winter weather. I'm also starting to put together a few decorating ideas...more on that to come!


These shots from the iconic Burberry campaigns were taken by Mario Testino and are just a sample of what is being showcased at the Private View exhibition which opened yesterday in Beijing. This video shows Christopher Bailey + Mario Testino talking about their mutual appreciation of each other and the synergy between them that has produced an incredible breadth of work over the past 15 years.

Love her style {Diane Kruger}

I was reminded again during this year's Cannes film festival about how fabulous Diane Kruger's sense of style is. Whether walking the red carpet or attending a fashion show, she always looks incredibly chic. I love her signature style which mostly consists of classic feminine dresses, with an edge.
