Keeping cosy

Happy Monday lovelies!

Sydney received an incredible down pour of rain today and I got completely drenched on the way home from work. Tonight I'm all rugged up trying to keep warm and working out my wet weather outfits for the next few days!

It's definitely a challenge being stylish as well as practical in the rain, but there are a few key essentials to achieve this look:

* a stylish umbrella
* gum boots
* trench coat

I hope your week is off to a good start and do keep dry if you are caught up in this weather!

Happy weekend!

Happy weekend lovelies! It has been a long week so definitely looking forward to two days off. Do you have anything exciting planned? I have my good friends' baby shower, for which I will be baking these delicious blueberry crumble muffins - I have made them a few times and have always been a hit!
I think some retail therapy is also in order to stock up on some warm clothes; winter has definitely snuck up on us in Sydney.

On another note, I love these pretty postcards that Nichole over at Little Brown Pen has just added to her etsy store.

Have a glorious weekend friends,

Rachel xo

Wednesday Workspace

I discovered this lovely workspace over at Decor8 where Anna Malin recently shared her revamped office nook. How pretty is it? I wouldn't want to leave if this was my workspace; oh how productive I would be!

I have long been an admirer of Anna's unique creativity and flair; her distinct Scandinavian style is incredibly inspiring.

Take a peek at Anna's blog for more gorgeous inspiration.

Happy Wednesday friends!

Shimmer & sparkle

I thought Gwynneth Paltrow and Sarah-Jessica Parker were two of the best dressed ladies at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Met Gala. I loved their simple, yet stylish look: floor length gown, gold, with a dash of sparkle. Fabulous, yes?

Black & White lovelies

Hello my dears, welcome to a brand new week! I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was spent catching up with my friend and her little boy and spending some time with hubby after his hectic work schedule, which was lots of fun.

As you know black and white is my favourite colour combination and these rooms have so many elements to love. Seriously impossible to resist, don't you think?

Happy Monday friends!

Modern, eclectic, with a dash of vintage

I adore the modern eclectic feel to this home. The cool mix of traditional features with eclectic touches make this home incredibly interesting. The vintage elements also add so much character; and the turquoise? Seems I just can't get enough of this colour lately.

Wednesday Workspace {Lonny Office Makeover}

The newly revamped Lonny headquarters featuring in the latest issue couldn't be more divine - they definitely strike the right balance between being functional and chic, don't you agree?

There are too many lovely things about these spaces to count but some of my favorite elements include;
* Open brick walls painted white
* The mix of high end furnishings with IKEA
* The decorative lampshades and impressive bases
* The beautiful fabrics used for the curtains and revamping chairs
* The striped walls (!)
* the gorgeous artworks

What do you love most about the fabulous new Lonny offices'?

5 ways to add flair to your dining room

Wondering how to add a little 'flair' to you dining room?

1. Add some fabulous and interesting-looking chairs (try the replica Tolix, Ghost Chair, or something Vintage)
2. Be bold with your lighting choice (think patterns, oversized shades)
3. Make a statement with a rug to anchor the table in the room
4. Give your space some depth by adding different textures
5. Experiment with wall colour, or seriously consider wallpaper

Oh and fresh flowers never fail to brighten up any space!

Get the look {Olivia Palermo}

Happy Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? We travelled south for the weekend to celebrate my Grandmother's 90th birthday. Reaching 90 years old is most definitely a milestone to be celebrated, and our family paid hommage to how special a lady my Grandmother is, which was so lovely.

But today, I couldn't resist posting about the stylish Olivia Palermo who always looks incredibly fabulous each time she steps out; I especially loved this super-chic/casual outfit she wore last week on the streets of New York.

Shop the look:
1. Plaited Shopper, Zara
2. Cashmere blend knit, Country Road
3. Tina Pony Hair ballet flats, Sambag
4. Gold-plated cuff, Philippe Audibert
5. Polka dot scarf, Sonia Rykiel
6. Cat eye sunglasses, Ray Ban
7. Olive Low Rise The Pencil jeans, J Brand

By the way, I have made a couple of minor tweaks to the layout here which will hopefully help finding posts much easier; I will be making a few more tweaks over the coming week, so please let me know any feedback you have or anything else you would like to see :)

Have a brilliant Monday my dears!

Hello & Highlights from Melbourne

Hello friends! Apologies for my long absence, but after our whirlwind trip to Melbourne I officially started a new job which has meant lots of hours and sadly no time for blogging.
But I do have a few pics of our Melbourne trip to share with you...
{lots of fresh fruit & vegetables at the Prahan markets}

{homemade Jam store at Prahan markets}

{delicious cupcakes at Prahan markets}

{an incredible selection of gourmet dips at Prahan markets}

Because we went over Easter, a lot was closed but there were still  plenty of stores open to enjoy. Sadly Fenton & Fenton was closed, but we did get to enjoy their lovely window displays!

{fenton & fenton, high street melbourne}

The highlights? We had an incredible degustation dinner out with our good friends at Ezard; exploring the Prahan markets and falling in love with Chapel Street Bazaar. All in all a fantastic holiday!

While I was gone I noticed I had a few new followers join, so welcome!

Do you have anything special planned for Mother's Day tomorrow? We are having both mine and M's family over to our house so I will be busy baking in preparation to spoil our mum's. I hope you are having a lovely weekend!
