Dining room reveal

Hello lovelies! Today I'm excited to be sharing with you pics from our dining room. As I mentioned in this post, the inspiration behind the room were a mixture of modern, eclectic & chic.

I wanted to stay away from anything matchy-matchy and create a space that would be both chic and sophisticated, with a little edge thrown in for good measure.

My favourite piece in the room would have to be the cow-hide rug which I found from a seller on eBay which was a steal at $229!

Dining Spaces to Inspire

Before I share with you the pics for how our apartment turned out, I first wanted to share some of the rooms that helped to inspire me, starting with the dining room today.

From these spaces, not every style or decor choice from each room has been adopted, but each of them has an element or subtlety that has been incorporated....

Our space is all white, glorious white. I can't resist pure white walls!

I adore Tolix chairs and knew that I had to incorporate them somehow; problem being, I also love Eames Wire chairs and Wishbone chairs...

I'm also quite partial to cow hide rugs...

If I had to describe the style of our dining room I would have to say chic, modern eclectic with an industrial edge.

I love mis-matched furniture and creating interest by adding one or two quirky elements...

5 ways to add flair to your dining room

Wondering how to add a little 'flair' to you dining room? 


1. Add some fabulous and interesting-looking chairs (try the replica Tolix, Ghost Chair, or something Vintage)
2. Be bold with your lighting choice (think patterns, oversized shades)
3. Make a statement with a rug to anchor the table in the room
4. Give your space some depth by adding different textures
5. Experiment with wall colour, or seriously consider wallpaper

Oh and fresh flowers never fail to brighten up any space!

The Perfect Dining Nook

I love this dining room nook. The striped cushions, the pretty floral arrangements, the black and white picture frames; all set against the polished floors and white walls, perfect this lovely dining space.
