{happy weekend & lovely links}

TGI Friday! Well, the day for the big move has arrived which means I will be taking a little break from the blog whilst we move; hopefully it won't be too long before our internet connection is back up!

In the meantime here are the lovelies that caught my eye this week...

* 100 years of fashion in 100 seconds
* Michelle Williams looks incredible in this Vogue editorial as Marilyn Munroe
* Loving Anna Spiro's Spring vingette, so gorgeously pretty!
* These doggie luggage tags are so cute!
* The fall issue of Sweet Paul is out and filled with lots of delicious inspiration like these chocolate mascarpone cupcakes.

And finally; I love these tips on how to be happier everyday -

* Go to bed earlier.
* Finish things ahead of time.
* Exercise.
* Be present.
* Organize.
* Listen to music.
* Think positively.
* Drink lots of water.
* Watch your favourite film.
* Read.
* Be productive.

Wishing you a happy, and most wonderful weekend friends!

NYFW Streetstyle

I have been following along with the collections showing at NYFW this week but have to say, I've been equally intrigued by all the fabulous street style fashion outside the shows, which has certainly made for an inspiring week...

The pops of colour are incredible, aren't they?

A few favourites from the catwalk have been Christian SirianoPhillip Lim & Zac Posen

Have you been following along NYFW too? What have been the stand-out shows for you?

Dining room reveal

Hello lovelies! Today I'm excited to be sharing with you pics from our dining room. As I mentioned in this post, the inspiration behind the room were a mixture of modern, eclectic & chic.

I wanted to stay away from anything matchy-matchy and create a space that would be both chic and sophisticated, with a little edge thrown in for good measure.

My favourite piece in the room would have to be the cow-hide rug which I found from a seller on eBay which was a steal at $229!

Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!

Lonny Love

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was spent crazily busily packing up our apartment and organizing the 1001 things we need to before the removalists come on Friday - eek!

Anyway, on to a much more fun topic; have you taken a peek at the October issue of Lonny? You won't be disappointed; the team at Lonny have brought us another issue full of incredible inspiration.
A favorite was definitely the fabulous Upper West apartment designed by Celerie Kemble and Anna Burke. Perhaps it is the romantic notion of New York that had me instantly drawn to this apartment; but more likely, it was the perfectly glamorous/vintage/eclectic vibe, instantly detected from the decadent lacquered blue walls in the entry way. Or perhaps it was stunning the peacock, placed precariously on the side buffet table! So fabulous, yes?

Have you taken a look at the latest issue? Would love to know your favourite picks!

Also lovelies, my friend Serena, over at Pretty Fluffy, launched her brand new (and utterly gorgeous) site today. If you are dog-lover like me, and think your fury friend is the bees knees, then Pretty Fluffy will become one of your best sources of stylish doggie inspiration!

Hope your week is off to a brilliant start,

Rachel xo

Ollie & Max

Hello lovelies! Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments yesterday, they definitely cheered me up and today was was a much better day!

Today I wanted to share with you my recent discovery of Sydney boutique, Ollie & Max, who offer the loveliest classic and trans-seasonal pieces with a modern twist.

Designer Samantha Burns began Ollie & Max with the simple philosophy of creating  a sophisticated  tailored casual shirt that could be worn  from summer to winter, year in year out. Today, this has grown into a collection of classic, wearable pieces including dresses, organic t-shirts, bags and accessories.

Being made using natural fibres and designed to suit all body shapes and sizes, the gorgeous pieces will make it easy to mix and match with your wardrobe this season.

A few of my favourite picks include the very wearable Christobelle  French Dress; Scarlett Tassel Scarf and the Ollie & Arabella shirts. Love!

Take a look at more of Ollie & Max's pieces here and do tell me which are your favourites!

Have a wonderful Thursday,

Rachel xo

Wednesday Workspace {pretty pink}

I'm not going to lie, I have had a pretty awful day today. You know, the kind of day where everything seems to go wrong and you are thinking "Really? Is this actually happening?". So to brighten my mood I need some pink pretties to cheer me up and this workspace has done the trick!

Such a perfectly girly space filled with feminine touches, don't you agree?

I hope you are having a wonderful day lovelies!

Currently Coveting {classic breton stripes}

Hello lovelies! I don't think I will tire of classic breton stripes any time soon and with Spring now in full swing they are already featuring heavily in my wardrobe this season.

Who made the breton stripe the most covetable chic look it is today? Coco Chanel, of course.

Legend has it that she borrowed a blue and white thinly striped sweater, the breton - established in 1958 by the French Navy - from her lover, tailoring it to herself and defining the look that today, has become synonymous with chic minimalism.

Knowing about the history behind the breton stripe has only made me love this look, and it's numerous variations, even more.

So French, so chic.

September Style

Happy Monday lovelies, welcome to a brand new week! Because of all  the craziness of last week I missed out on doing the September Style post, so I thought it would be a good way to start the week.

{one} Romani Jersey Dress, Fleur Wood - My love affair with stripes is still going strong and no doubt I will be living in this dress during the warmer months ahead. It looks so comfy!

{two} Hang in there glasses pendant; Kate Spade - Now this is too cute!

{three} Design*Sponge, At Home; Grace Bonney - #1 on my wish list right now and the must-have home decorators' book featuring over 400 pages on everything from home tours, DIY's, before and afters and plenty more. Can't wait until this comes out!

{four} Pantone storage boxes; how cute are these mini Pantone storage boxes? Love that they not only look good; they are practical too.

{five} Hermes Mythiques Phoenix scarf - scarves are my favourite accessory in during the shoulder seasons and I can't resist the gorgeous prints from Hermes. Love.

{six} Jessica Durrant illustrations - I recently discovered the work of Jessica Durrant over at Breakfast at Toast and was instantly impressed by her work. This is one of my favourite pieces of hers and I will be working out where I can position these gorgeous prints in our new home.

Hope your week is off to a brilliant start.

a french inspired boudoir {hello spring}

This lovely French style boudoir caught my eye and I thought how it was fitting for the first post of the new season.  Spring is my absolute favourite time of the year, with all of the fresh blooms, sunshine and longer days to look forward to.

It was a brilliant end to the week, albiet a busy one, with finding our new home, signing the lease and picking up the keys!
We have found a gorgeous 2 bedroom semi detached house with a cute little garden. I'm excited as this will be the first time I have lived in an actual house since living with my family; always having lived in an apartment.
So much to do now to start packing up our apartment and organising the move!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Rachel xo
