{Photography Inspiration} Donna Griffith

Welcome to the inspirational works of Canadian
photographer Donna Griffith.

How delightful is the composition in all of these shots?
Each one has been set up beautifully to
capture the depth and mood of the room.

I love the floral bedhead, so feminine and definitely country chic!

Valentines Day..."It's About Love, It's About Romance..."

This movie looks like such fun, I can't wait to see it!

Do you have anything planned for Valentine's Day?

{Photography Inspiration} Trine Thorsen

I owe the absolute pleasure of discovering Trine Thorsen's portfolio to one of my favourite design blogs Desire to Inspire. Looking at Thorsen's work is incredibly inspiring and to describe it in a word, is, well, fabulous!

I am completely in love with these hardwood floors painted in white, it is such an easy way to transform a room and adds a fresh, country-inspired feel.

This retro Smeg fridge is pretty cool too, I have seen they come in other pretty colours - including pink! - and have long been a fan. Definitely one for my interiors wishlist.

Chic & Glamourous

Via Alkemie

How fabulous are these interiors?

I would love to dedicate one room in our house for pure girly glamour....Wonder how husband would feel about that!?

Do you have a place in your house you can escape and be ridiculously girly?

...Because every girl deserves to indulge in a bit of glamour in their life ;)

{Photography Inspiration} Anitta Behrendt

I was excited when I discovered the portfolio of Danish photographer Anitta Behrendt - her work is amazing. I adore light and bright interiors and Behrendt has captured this in each of these gorgeous shots. I love this old-fashioned bathtub with the faucets on the wall - I dream of having a bathroom one day as big and spacious as this one!

How was your weekend lovelies? Mine was eventful! Our house-sitting stint got cut short when husband's parents' house completely flooded with the huge down-pour Sydney received on Saturday night. All is well though, no damage done that can't be replaced by handy-home insurance and luckily we could just move back to our little place.

Have a fabulous Monday!

Friday Fashion Notes

These adorable winter outfits are making me long for the cold. Call me crazy, but I am definitely a winter person, way more than I am a summer person.  Oh and how cute is the poncho?! Love it! What's planned for the weekend lovelies?

Oh So Lovely: Black & White

I love black and white as a combination, in fact I love it so much I used it as the colour theme for my wedding. It makes such a stylish and sophisticated interiors theme, yet can be used to create a dramatic effect in almost any space.

{Interiors Inspiration} Laura Ashley

I have vivid childhood memories of my mother taking me into Laura Ashley stores and remember her adoration of everything in sight. I also remember my sister and I had Laura Ashley fabric for our bedroom curtains and how our rooms were decorated to complement the delightful prints.

I never really gave Laura Ashley a second thought until recently when I discovered their catalogue, and now I can completely understand my mother's love for their range of fabric and furnishings. Perhaps they have undergone a renaissance of sorts in recent times, because I can't imagine how I could have been so in the dark about their very pretty and lovely range. Here are some favorites.

Happy Monday & Welcome to February!

Morning lovelies! How was your weekend? I can't believe how quickly January disappeared, it feels so strange that we are already into the second month of 2010!

I am psyching myself up for a hugely busy week starting my new job and have decided to use this gorgeous shot from Home Beautiful magazine as my inspiration for the week. I love the serenity and calming effect blue seems to have on me; and it was just recently that I discovered a new-found adoration for hydrangeas, so this picture perfectly encapsulates my state of mind at the moment.

Have a fabulous Monday!

Friday Fashion Notes

Happy weekend lovelies! This past week has been super hectic with work, hence my lack of post yesterday, so this weeks' Fashion Notes are on Saturday instead.

The Armani Spring 2010 couture collections were shown this week so I thought I would share some of my favourites with you - enjoy!

I am definitely ready for some relaxation and rejuvenation this weekend. What are your plans?

{Interiors Inspiration} Atlanta Bartlett

Eclectic, creative and joyous three are words that come to mind when looking at the portfolio of interiors stylist Atlanta Bartlett. I love the distinct country flavour and the way she has used different textures to create a lovely and homey feel. I also don't mind that everything is not perfectly symmetrical, which normally bugs me!

If you love Bartlett's style as much as I do, check out her online boutique store, Pale and Interesting. The store specialises in furniture, accessories, jewellery and books all chosen or designed by Atlanta and her husband, and is "inspired by their love of the functional, beautiful and out-of-the-ordinary".

{Interiors Trend} Subway Sign Art

According to House & Home, one of the 10 hot new trends in 2010 will be subway sign art.
Well, I would have to agree after seeing how awesome it can look.

Young House Love's John and Sherry created their own DIY version of subway sign art to put the finishing touches on their new bathroom and it looks fantastic!

The contrast of black and white bold type against the back-drop of exposed brick in this warehouse-style apartment provides the living room with an undisputed focal point:

I love how subway artwork has been used to creatively fill a would-be
bare wall in this rustic kitchen.

Ideas, ideas - I love it!

Hope you had a fabulous Australia Day!
