Hello Autumn

Welcome March! As the days start to get cooler here, my thoughts have started to drift towards a more subdued colour palette with rich mustards, lots of camel, and of course classic neutrals like beige and navy. Call me crazy, but I'm kinda looking forward to the cooler months ahead and keeping cozy.

Wednesday Workspace + a new look

Happy hump day my dears + welcome to the new look Little Bits of Lovely!


The blog has been have been given a fresh look which also included updating and reorganising the categories and regular features, which are now all on the right hand side. I hope you like it!


On another note, today I wanted to share the lovely workspace of Camille Styles, whose home was recently featured over at Design*Sponge. I've been a fan of Camille's blog for a while now + have always thought she has incredible style, so it was no surprise to see her home was equally gorgeous. I love the neutral palette Camille started with + how she has then added texture and bursts of colour to layer the room. The French-style chair is my favourite part - how incredibly comfy does it look? No, I wouldn't mind working in this space all day at all...

Best dressed :: 2012 Oscar Awards

Understated elegance + glamour would be the words to describe the best dressed stars at last night's 84th Academy Awards. I thought Gwyneth Paltrow stole the show in her all-white, floor length Tom Ford gown, which was complemented beautifully with glittering Anna Hu jewellery.

5 things making me happy

Hello friends, I hope you are having a wonderful week! It's been a while since my last 5 things making me happy post, so I thought I'd share a few things that have been making me smile lately...

I always love anything Kikki-K does, and I'm right now loving their new range of adorable inspiration cards. They come in a pack of 12 and each is beautifully illustrated with an inspiring message.  So lovely!

I just got my Sarah + Bendrix prints framed + they look fab!

I'm right now having a renewed love for my Mulberry Bayswater bag. I tend to go through phases with my bags so this has been getting a lot of love recently.

Donna Hay's Fast, Fresh, Simple. I highly recommend this book. Every recipe is utterly divine + is so easy to make! 

I've been listening to the Emeli Sandé album lately + it's fabulous. This song, Next to me is my favourite on the album + always gets me in a good mood!

Wednesday Workspace {black + white}

There is much to love in this luxe workspace, featured in Celerie Kemble's book, Black + White (and a bit in between). 

The oversized table lamp is incredibly glamorous + serves as the feature piece for the space; whilst the lovely decorative touches like the Hermes boxes and Classic Wedgwood Jasper vase + dish, add a subtle air of elegance + refinement. 

So lovely, don't you think?

lovely fashion illustrations {danny roberts}

A few weeks ago I came across this gorgeous illustration, but I couldn't find the credit for the artist; but today I discovered it was the work of Danny Roberts, who also pens the blog Igor + Andre.
I was delighted to discover that there is also an Etsy shop featuring so many beautiful fashion illustrations, all inspired by a mix of glossy covers, editorials and the runway.


I just ordered the beautiful Sofia Vogue cover + wanted to also share a few of my favourites...

Inspired Life :: Ghandi's top 10 fundamentals for changing the world

Happy Monday friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We finally had our first real summer weekend here with absolutely glorious weather, so much so that I forgot to put sunscreen on and got burnt - oops! Ah well, it was still so lovely to be outside and enjoy the weather.


Today I'm starting a new series on the blog I'm calling Inspired Life that I hope will plant a seed, however small, to inspire you to lead a life well-lived + create the life you had always imagined. 


I feel strongly opening your mind + challenging yourself to things that may seem out of reach + I want this blog to reflect this sentiment, so sharing these ideas seemed only natural.


I thought it fitting to start off with the thoughts of Ghandi - someone who I find incredibly inspiring + whose ideas and philosophies, centred on non-violent resistance, helped lead India to independence.

Here are Ghandi's Top 10 Fundamentals for Changing the World...

1. Change yourself.

2. You are in control.

3. Forgive + let go.

4. Without action you aren't going anywhere.

5. Take care of this moment.

Oh so lovely {feminine luxe}

Most girls could only ever dream of owning a closet + shoe collection like Suzanne Rogers. Her collection is quite incredible and whilst I'm not big on the über feminine look, I adore the perfect composition The Coveteur has used to so eloquently capture the details of her closet + home...

In the words of Carrie Bradshaw, can I just say Yes to the shoe closet + a resounding Yes to the vintage Chanel? So very lovely, don't you think?

I felt a sense of calm looking at this lovely and serene workspace, belonging to Sarah of Chevron + Stripes. I love the refreshing palette of muted blues and greens, which is perfectly balanced with subtle bursts of colour. I also love the For Like Ever print and am seriously considering buying it, I just need to work out where to put it ;)
