Short Break

Hello lovelies!

Well the time has finally arrived; we have picked up the keys to our new place and now the fun of painting, renovating and moving begins!

I will be taking a short break for a couple of weeks while we make the big move and get ourselves organised in the new place.

I will be back soon to share the next chapter with you.

Until then, I will be on Twitter and posting when I can on Tumblr.

Colour Splash {Hot Pink}

It's such a cold and dreary day in Sydney today so I thought a dose of colour inspiration would help to put the winter chills at bay.

And what better colour than hot pink?

What I really love about these rooms is that despite the colour they are not really 'girly' at all, which is almost always associated with pink.

A daring interiors choice by any standards, but don't you agree these rooms are fabulous?

To paint or not to paint?

Hello lovely friends!

Well its Sunday night and we have not come even close to having our apartment packed, oops! On a brighter note we have been more productive in planning for what we will be our first project in our new apartment: painting.

For our bedroom I have been inspired by dark grey walls, off-set by a white semi-gloss trim around the window frames, the door and then plain white on the ceiling.

My first inspiration was Cassandra over at Coco & Kelly and her amazing bedroom transformation -

And then I saw this stunning room and was hooked -

As much as I adore these rooms, I am super nervous about taking a big leap with such a dramatic look; and for me being a painting 'virgin' and all, I have always lived in rental places with white walls. Boring, I know!

So I am putting it out there - have you ever painted a room in dark colours? Were you happy with the result? And more importantly would you do it again?

Love to hear your thoughts!

What Dreams Are Made of {Jessica Watson}

It's a big day in Sydney today, Jessica Watson, the 16 year old determined young lady who sailed solo around the world, is arriving back home. I am awe-inspired by Jess' journey and along with the rest of Australia can't wait to welcome her back home on solid ground.

Jess has kept a blog of her adventures out at sea and has captivated the hearts of people around the world. Her journey has proved a reminder to me that you can achieve any dream, you just have to have the drive and determination to succceed.

Thought for the day: always dream big and never give up hope.

Interiors Inspiration {Pure White}

There is something enchanting about pure white interiors; I feel a sense of calmness and serenity every time I see perfect rooms with shades of white.

What I find completely fascinating is the numerous shades of white that actually exist, which husband and I found out as we were choosing paints for our walls. We are pick the paint up this week and then next weekend will be spent painting!

Do you have plans for the weekend? We are surrounded by boxes at the moment, with the goal of having our apartment completely packed by the end of the weekend, ready for our big move. Let's hope we can achieve it!

Happy weekend darlings!

Currently Coveting {Decorative Headboards}

How gorgeous are these headboards? I'm loving how they instantly provide an element of glamour and at the same time make a bedroom feel deliciously cozy.

I am crazy about headboards at the moment and have seen so many amazing DIY's lately out in blogger land (like this one over at 3 Men and a Lady) that I'm feeling rather inspired to create something fab for our new bedroom!

Interiors Inspiration {Shabby-Chic}

Welcome to the weekend lovelies! I have a beautiful home to share with you today which I discovered from a blog I stumbled across from Portugal!

I was instantly drawn to this shabby-chic home; the high ceilings, white floorboards and chandeliers are exquisite.

My favourite room? The kitchen. I cannot go past the colour scheme, the cupboards, the fabulous light-fitting and the wrought iron bar stools - swoon!

What about you, what is your favourite part of this home?

{Colour Splash}

Morning lovelies! Finally in Sydney we are getting some Autumn weather; it's cold!  I'm enjoying getting out my winter clothes and rugging up immensely.

Loving this splash of colour; the vibrant blue with a dash of red, green and yellow, is gorgeous. Just looking at this room has brightened up my morning already!

Met Gala Ball {Top 5}

There were so many fabulous dresses at the Met Costume Institute Gala last night, but there were five that I thought stood out as being jaw-droppingly amazing.

one: Zoe Saldana

Zoe has failed to put a fashion-step wrong and always exudes style, poise and glamour at every event she attends. This dress is no exception, she looks fabulous! Definitely my favourite look of the night.

two: Emma Watson

At the tender age of 20, Emma has managed to establish her style credentials surrounded by the toughest of critics. I adore her confidence and the way she understands what outfits will do her justice. She is all-class and I love it!

three: Sarah-Jessica Parker

I am the biggest SATC fan you will find, but I am also first to admit that some of the fashion choices SJP makes are not the best. But last night she looked utterly stunning. I loved the colour she wore and how she chose to accessorize the dress. The the soft drapes were nothing but flattering.

four: Diane Kruger

Classy & fabulous; simple & understated. Diane knows what works!

five: Blake Lively
This is a fun dress for Blake. She definitely isn't afraid to take risks and has the figure to pull this dress off effortlessly. Love the one-shoulder look and the ruffles!

Who wore your favourite look of the night?

Mother's Day {Lovely Inspiration}

Mother's Day is all about spoiling your Mum rotten, and with Mother's Day coming up this Sunday, I thought I would share a few lovely things.

The delightful Nole, over at Beautiful Paper has given a fabulous round-up of the best Mother's Day cards, do check out her full post here. My top picks of the prettiest...

I love a bit of Jo Malone luxury and was excited to find out that she has recently partnered with Farrow & Ball to create 5 limited edition coloured Home Candles, that would be perfect for Mum!

The collection includes delicious-smelling scents such as Lime Basil & Mandarin in Breakfast Room Green, Pomegranate Noir, in Eating Room Red and Wild Fig & Cassis in Pelt.

What better than a beautiful bunch of flowers to give your dear Mum on Mothers Day?

Whether you're heading off to the flower markets early, or carefully choosing a special bouquet, flowers are perfect gift to spoil Mum with!

I adored Julie & Julia the movie, and my Mum has recently seen it too and can't stop raving about it. So for Mother's Day I'm going to spoil her with Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

My Mum is such an amazing cook and has almost every recipe book, but I know she doesn't have this one!
