Currently Coveting {classic breton stripes}

Hello lovelies! I don't think I will tire of classic breton stripes any time soon and with Spring now in full swing they are already featuring heavily in my wardrobe this season.

Who made the breton stripe the most covetable chic look it is today? Coco Chanel, of course.

Legend has it that she borrowed a blue and white thinly striped sweater, the breton - established in 1958 by the French Navy - from her lover, tailoring it to herself and defining the look that today, has become synonymous with chic minimalism.

Knowing about the history behind the breton stripe has only made me love this look, and it's numerous variations, even more.

So French, so chic.

  7. Completely agree with you that we will never be tired of classic breton stripes! White & blue are great for warm seasons and, because I love stripes, I just change colours combo to wear them in fall/winter as well...

  8. The breton top is one of my favourite items, I always seem to discover it over and over again with each season. Is that a sequined striped top paired with red pants? That is one fabulous look. xo
