Dorothy Draper famously designed all of hotel decor following World War II in her signature bold style, and in 2009 it underwent a refurbishment to restore the Hotel to its former glory.
Whilst I'm the first to admit these overly glamorous rooms are not really my thing, I was drawn to how splendidly charismatic they each are, and I can see how Dorothy Draper's signature style has influenced many designers today {Kate Spade; Lily Pulitzer, Cath Kidston to name a few} proving how cutting edge these designs were at the time.
I also noticed The Greenbrier hosts the Dorothy Draper school of decorating; a 5 day course where participants learn the "art of creating interiors and enhance their decorating abilities, find their own personality, and improve their lifestyle" - how wonderful!
What do you think of Dorothy Draper's signature style?
