Birthday Girl

Hello lovelies! Today I have been busy celebrating because it's my 30th birthday! 

My husband has spoilt me rotton with this fabulous bag which I had been eye-ing off for sometime and topped off with a dozen roses sent to my office, plus an amazing dinner out at Toko (the best Japanese in Sydney). A brilliant birthday all around!

Modern Italian Beachhouse

Stylist Annette Jackson had her amazing Italian beach house featured over at Design Sponge and I was immediately drawn to the moody neutral and grey colour palette mixed with pops of orange and blue. 

I'm not normally a fan of traditional beach house style, but was pleasantly surprised by the modern take that Annette has made...

 

 

I love the way several different textures have been used throughout the home, like the stone wall and glass doors (below in the guest bedroom) and the entry way with the chalkboard wall (above) - this adds so much intrigue!

I adore the twin marble basin and the open shelving in the bathroom.

The marble theme has been carried through to the kitchen which perfectly complements the stainless steel and birch wood. The stand out for me in the kitchen are the statement lights that hang above the island bench - Annette had these specially shipped over from the US! Love!

Kitchens with Blackboards & Shopbop Winner

Hello lovelies, how was your weekend? My dear friend had a little baby boy on the weekend and I was so thrilled to have met little William Cooper today. Still feeling all gooey from holding the little man, he is so completely adorable and so teeny!

Meanwhile...I spied these lovely kitchens with blackboards today and immediately and thought how wonderfully practical they were but also how fabulous they look! 

A big congratulations to Eva from Eva The Beaver, a former Sydney-sider who now calls New York home. I hope you have fun enjoying your Shopbop splurge!

Love Her Style {Clemence Poesy}

I am currently coveting the minimalist-chic style of Clemence Poesy - the new love interest for Mr Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl.

My favourite look has been the ensemble worn to the Chanel RTW Spring/Summer 2011 in Paris - utterly sublime.

I didn't realise until now that Clemence is also the face of Chloe parfum - a stunning campaign.

Do you have anything planned for the weekend? My hubby is off to a bucks weekend so I am looking forward to a weekend of blissful girly-ness, so perhaps a manicure, a bit of shopping and finally seeing Eat Pray Love!

Colour Splash {Orange}

I'm feeling a bit adventurous today, hence the post on orange!

Orange isn't normally a colour I would go for, but I have been seeing so much orange around lately especially coming up to Halloween and I couldn't resist sharing these lovely rooms. My favourite is the first image; the rust orange matched with these vintage style chairs is simply exquisite.

I haven't been game enough to experiment with orange in my own home, but would be interested to know if you have.

Heavenly White

Hello lovelies, how was your weekend? I had a fun filled weekend and managed to catch the new Ben Afleck movie, The Town. Such a great story, but extremely sad at the same time; highly recommended!

How heavenly is this pure white home? I saw it, and immediately felt refreshed and recharged; perfect for a Monday really! Hope your week is off to a great start.

I have only recently discovered Shopbop, but now that I have it has opened up a whole new world of designer shopping possibilities to feed my love for accessories. Happy Birthday Lonny!

If like me, you have spent the last few days pouring over the latest issue of Lonny, you would understand my delight in the homes featured in their anniversary issue.

Whilst I adored everything about Lulu Kwiatkowski's vibrant Los Angeles abode...

...I fell head over heels when I saw Celerie Kemble's New York apartment - oh the glamour!

 

The lovely list:

* The comfortable living space next to the bedroom for Celerie & her husband to escape, along with those luxe black lamps

* The decadent dressing room and marble-clad bathroom
* The stuffed peacock in the living room - what an amazing feature!
